Lebesson is European Champion!

Historical triumph for France, after Jacques Secrétin’s European title in 1976! 40 years later, Emmanuel Lebesson, under TIBHAR contract, realizes a fantastic match at the European Championships 2016 held in Budapest.
He wins the tournament against his compatriot and friend, Simon Gauzy, who too stood among the favorites, after having beaten some of the best European players, to name just a few, the Portuguese Marcos Freitas in the quarter finals, the Polish young player Jakub Dyjas, who prior had eliminated the top favorite Dimitrij Ovtcharov. After a slow beginning (Emmanuel loses the second set), and confident again, he left no chance to his 21-year old adversary. The titles of European Champion and vice-Champion in men single go to the “big nation”, who has not counted a European Champion anymore since 1976.

Kristin Silbereisen (TIBHAR) and her double partner, Sabine Winter, win the European Championships in double against the pair Xiaona Shan/Petrissa Solja. The outsider pair from Kolbermoor triumphed in the decisive seventh set on a score of 11:9.
Another TIBHAR player wins bronze in the mixed double: the Romanian Bernadette Szocs and her partner Ovidiu Ionescu lost the semi-finals against a pair and also a couple, Joao Monteiro and Daniela Dodean-Monteiro (Portugal/Romania). They are the first couple in the history of table tennis to win this title!
