At the Cadet and Junior European Championships held in Bratislava, TIBHAR players prove their supremacy in Europe, with the French Equipe at their head. The team from France has been dominating almost all these years the European scene in the team competitions. Thus both gold medals in the Cadet and Junior competitions go again in 2015 to the “Grande Nation”.
Also the Romanian male and female players belong meanwhile to the “number ones” of this event, in particular the 15-year-old Cristian Pletea from Constanța. The right-handed with the efficient forehand defeats in the cadet single finals not only the German Jannik Xu in four smooth sentences, but also takes the title of the mixed double with his partner the Russian Maria Taylakova, then silver in the cadet double and bronze in the team competition.
The Romanian cadet boys and girls appear in shining form as well. To name just two, the bronze medal goes to the cadet girls and the junior girl team wins gold.
Both TIBHAR players Darko Jorgic and Deni Kozul from Slovenia represent the best pair of their age group. The duo defeats on a non-appealing score of 3:1 the Swedish pair in finals. To complete this successful series, the pair hits the third step of the podium in the Youth competition.
A noticeable highlight on the edge of the event is for sure the contract extension with the U15-World Ranking number 1, Cristian Pletea, who will strengthen the TIBHAR family till at least 2018.
