Polansky clinches the "Triple"

A big year for a small man: the 15-year-old Tomas Polansky secures not less than three titles at the European Cadet (school) Championships in Ostrova and thus follows the footsteps of great players such as Vladimir Samsonov or Timo Boll. After winning gold at the team championships and in doubles, the exceptional talent who trusts in TIBHAR’s Evolution MX-P, beats the also 15-year-old Russian Maxim Chaplygin with 4:0 in singles. With this crushing victory, Polansky marks a clear sign in front of his home audience.
This success is also the ticket to the ITTF World Cadet Challenge in Otočec (Slovenia) in December. Tomas uses this chance to demonstrate impressively that he is a player who will be heard about more and more in the future.
By contrast, Vladimir Samsonov attends the European Championships for Men for the fourteenth time to be held in Schwechat (Austria). The Belarusian (White Russian) shows that, at 37 years, he still belongs to the international elite. Without any major problems, he wins through to the finals where he has to admit defeat against the favorite Dimitrij Ovtcharov.
To sum up Samsonov’s overall results at European Championships, this marks his third vice title in Singles and furthermore his 31st medal.
